Bloke has testosterone replacement therapy and says it's a replacement not exceeding the recommended dose. Nonsense. He also loves his graph hormone which he admits to being on, he also plugs his supplements (some pink liquid) which apparently doesn't taste nice but gets results. Drugs are why he's huge, not over priced bands. $500 for rubber bands, a plate and a bar. Daylight robbery. Weight training is proven and has helped millions of people. Bands help yes, but weightlifting is not a waste of time and neither is cardio. Provocative title to simply sell the book. Lastly, he has a PhD but it's not credited from a real university so don't fall for the doctor Nonsense.

The title is effectively provocative. But the book is probably nonsense. I've read some of it, and heard some of the thesis. Yes, variable resistance has been around since Nautilas in 1970. It started the whole commercial gym industry. But all weight trainers know that it isn't very effective. No machine includes weight bearing, which is part of the systemic stress impetus to growth. Just read the literature or ask the PhDs who are also weight trainers. They'll tell you what works, and variable resistance exercises are convenient and fine, but they're not superior. The issue of injury is a huge concern and many lifters do damage their joints, but I can tell you as a doctor who has seen hundreds of thousands of x-ray and MRI images, there seems no correlation between skeletal degeneration and physical demands. I don't think medicine yet understands what causes most of what we observe in the way of joint degeneration. It is rampant in industrialized nations, yet most people never weight train. I hope the book title makes you the money you're hoping for, but it's probably just a gimmick.
