About this eBook

Warm beds, quaint mysteries, and the best rosemary bread this side of Pigsend Creek. Welcome to the Weary Dragon Inn.

Bev may not know who she was before she showed up in the quaint village of Pigsend five years ago, but that doesn't bother her much. She's made a tidy little life for herself as the proprietor of the Weary Dragon Inn, where the most notable event is when she makes her famous rosemary bread.

But when earthquakes and sinkholes start appearing all over town, including near Bev's front door, she's got to put on her sleuthing hat to figure out what—or who—might be causing them before the entire town disappears.

Drinks and Sinkholes is the first book in the Weary Dragon Inn Series, a cozy mystery fantasy by two-time award-winning author S. Usher Evans.

This is the first book in the The Weary Dragon Inn series. It follows Bev (short for Beverage Wench), the amnesiac inn-keeper in the town of Pigsend. Pigsend is a quaint little town with a variety of quirky characters: the typical small town nosey neighbors, a token gay couple, cantankerous old farmers, a useless mayor, a stupid sherif, and the mysterious Bev, keeper of the Weary Dragon Inn. The story is set 5 years after the queen, "Queen Meanie" over-threw the King. This cozy fantasy follows Bev while she unravels the mystery of what is causing the sinkholes & earthquakes. The world building was very strong and the fantasy setting was quite cozy. I enjoyed this book. The writer was at times extremely descriptive and loved the use of ellipses ... lots of ellipses... sometimes .... using several of them in the same sentence. ☞︎︎︎ I recommend listening as opposed to reading if that kind of thing annoys you as it does me.

*Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book to review, that in no way changes my opinions. Oh my gosh I'm so happy cozy fantasy is a thing now. This is a lighthearted fantasy book (don't see many of those!) about an innkeeper named Bev. Bev doesn't know how she got to the town of Pigsend or anything about her life before that and she's content to run the cozy inn in town. That is, she's content until a giant sinnkhole opens up on the outskirts of town and she's somehow tasked to figure out how

[4.5] I love that this is an adult protagonist but there isn't romance in the story. I also like there are mlm & wlw side characters. Cozy fantasy isn't usually my thing but I enjoyed this story.
