It is the second book in the “City of Blood Trilogy” and is a great follow-up to the first book in this series. The characters are still fun and exciting to read and the plot is smooth and keeps you interested. Members of the uprising have been arrested and executed after the failed attempt on the life of the mayor. Luckily, Chloe escaped and in order to save Oscar's life, she had to turn him into a vampire. And as if that were not enoughnow the mayor has also put a ration on blood, which is hardly enough to live on. Will Catherine be able to help them? Will they be able to mount a new resistance to bring down the tyranny that rules the city? I have read this book with great excitement and pleasure and cannot wait for the next story in this series I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
