About the author

Sharad K. Jain, Ph.D., is currently the Director of the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee, India. He has published more than 240 technical papers and more than 30 book chapters, and has served as author or editor of 9 books. He is member of editorial boards of several journals and of many committees related to water management.

Vijay P. Singh, Ph.D., is Distinguished Professor, Regents Professor, and Caroline & William N. Lehrer Distinguished Chair in Water Engineering in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at Texas A&M University. He has published nearly 1100 journal articles and has served as author or co-author of 28 books and editor of over 70 books, including Handbook of Applied Hydrology, Second Edition, and Encyclopedia of Snow, Ice and Glaciers.
