This is book three in The Fable of Happiness Trilogy and it completes Kas and Gemma's story and omg what an amazing ending to this incredible story. we pick up where book two left us with a open mouth cliff hanger and just when you thought Pepper Winters couldn't get any more Darker and Emotional she knocks you right down again with this book. The twists and turns just keep coming and you begin to wonder how it will all end especially after what Kas has been through but when you feel like darkness is taking you under along comes Gemma bringing the light yet again into Kas's life but as usual it is not plain sailing. I love how there relationship evolved and built into something so magical even through the darkest of times and omg there were quite a few of these but to keep on battling to come out of the other side stronger and have a love that will last a lifetime. He emotional journey that you sent on with Kas and Gemma at times broke you, made you cry, took you into the depths of hell but I still couldn't put this series down as it was so addictive and kept you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole trilogy and the depth of the story was a true masterpiece. Pepper Winters is an incredible author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and turning the pages of her books from start to finish and I definitely recommend you read them and you will definitely not be disappointed. I Voluntarily Reviewed an Arc Copy of this Amazing Series.

The trilogy is over, and I have no idea what to do with my life now. This story is on a whole new level of dark romance. It’s raw, emotional, twisted, powerful, commanding, distributing, and erotically mesmerizing. This final book is about healing, strength, loyalty, and love. Gemma and Kassen have an uncontrolled passion for each other that only intensifies with each book. Their story is cataclysmic, manic, savage, and all-consuming. The storyline and characters are so intricate and unique, and the setting is beautiful, despite the horrors in Fables’ history. The ending was beyond perfect. The strength it took for Kas to work his pain and give himself fully to Gem is awe inspiring. Their relationship is full of honestly, loyalty, trust, and determination. Together, they can conquer anything life throws at them. Pepper Winters, thank you for Kas’ beautiful journey. You had me in tears. You’ve truly outdone yourself. And thank you to Valentine PR for gifting me this epic audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I don’t want to give away anything because this is one of those stories you must experience for yourself. But be forewarned, there are major trigger warnings with this trilogy, and not recommended for anyone with sensitivities to certain traumatic aspects. “The overwhelming shock that I was free, but I had no idea how to be free.” Tor Thom and Charley Ongel are absolutely perfect for the roles of Gemma and Kassen. The way they expertly duet this book (in dual narration format) will leave you captivated and on the edge of your seat. The push and pull between Gemma and Kassen throughout the series was intense, as was the whole storyline in general. There were so many different emotions ranging from anger and violence to love, along with extremely emotional and gut-wrenching scenes of abuse, processing pain, and healing. Tor and Charley made you feel all this intensity in heart. This was storytelling at its best. Kas is such a tortured soul who’s endured far more than most could manage. Tor brilliantly portrayed him. Charley reflected Gemma’s kindness and selflessness so perfectly. You could feel the love Gem felt through Charley’s voice. These two narrators were connected body and soul to their characters, and it showed. 1000% MUST listen!!! “He wasn’t just beginning to live again. He was choosing to. A future where he was more than just happy. He was free.” 5-Zillion Emotional Stars! NOLA504NERDS BLOG

4.5 stars----FABLE OF HAPPINESS is the third and final instalment in Pepper Winters’ contemporary, adult FABLE dark, erotic, romance series focusing on thirty year old, reclusive Kassan Sands, and professional rock climber, twenty six year old, Gemma Ashcroft. FABLE OF HAPPINESS book 3 should not be read as a stand alone as is pick up after the events and cliff hanger of book two WARNING: Due to the graphic nature of the story line content, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers. NOTE: if you have not read books one and two, there may be spoilers in my review SOME BACKGROUND: Gemma Ashcroft is a professional rock climber but as she wandered through the forest, our heroine comes upon a run down mansion, a mansion wherein lived a reclusive beast of a man who will take control of our heroine’s mind, body and soul, a control in which Gemma finds herself falling in love. Told from dual first person perspectives (Kassan and Gemma) using present day and memories from the past, FABLE OF HAPPINESS three picks up immediately after the events of book two wherein Gemma finds herself struggling for survival as Kassan’s past takes aim at our story line heroine. No longer able to remain in seclusion, Gemma and Kassan must re-integrate into society and civilization but a society that threatens all of Kassan’s hard-fought progress. Helpless to release the monsters and ghosts from his mind, Kassan struggles to trust anyone other than our story line heroine, and with it, his new found freedom far from the evil that controlled his life. Kassan and Gemma’s tumultuous journey comes full circle when the past seeks vengeance for all of the victims, including vengeance for our story line hero. FABLE OF HAPPINESS is an emotional, intense, heart breaking, sensitive, tragic and dark story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, abuse and torture, pain and suffering but it is also an unconventional love story of beauty and survival, passion, drama, and acceptance. Pepper Winters pulls the reader into a vivid, powerful and startling tale of abuse where the survivors struggle at every turn.
