About this eBook

She thinks she’s fooled me. But I’ve known all along.

Almost.

Lily is hiding something, a secret so big, she came out of a year-long coma and her first instinct was to lie.

Who does that? Someone who is afraid. No—not afraid.

Terrified. And it’s my job to take that fear away.

My partner and I have spent countless man-hours hunting down the cold-blooded killer who did this to her. Meanwhile, Lily’s spent her waking hours recovering. Getting stronger. Getting smarter.

Staying beautiful.

Never get involved emotionally. That’s my dictate. Never get attached.

When you realize you’re caught in a triangle, it turns out there is no exit.

Crossing a line is easy. Holding a line takes strength.

Lily’s shooter knows that she’s my weakness.

And he’s about to exploit that by breaking a line and escaping, claiming a hostage in the process.

One I have to get back.

No matter what it takes.

False Hope is book 2 in the False trilogy by USA Today bestselling author Meli Raine.

The first book started off so well,it had the suspense and a hint of an intriguing plot. Unfortunately book 2 didn't evolve into anything more than what was in book 1 and was beyond repetitive and boring. Blah, blah, blah should have been the title.

The False series was a rollercoaster of a ride. OMG! Had to buy it on audiobook also so I could listen as I drive. All of the stories by this author are action packed with twists and turns. Just when you think you have it figured out, something happens that was not expected. Lilly was an unfortunate mistaken identity who was now protected by the president because she and Jane were friends. The big question is did she see who tried to kill her. Duff has been tasked to keep her safe. Can the two ignore the chemistry or will they give in to temptation?

Second in this newest series. I had a hard time with this book, the previous stories (there are several that string together and wrap around a common theme). This installment was slow in spots, then the pace picked up and interest peaked. Waiting for the next, because this ends at a really inconvenient place. Anticipating the next.
