About the author

Dr Anton Ravindran is currently the CEO and Founder of RapidStart; President of the Global Science and Technology Forum (GSTF); Visiting Professor and Researcher at the Institute for Research in Applicable Computing (IRAC), University of Bedfordshire, UK; Adjunct Professor at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Department of Management (Pilani – Dubai Campus); and Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Information Systems at Bina Nusantara University, Jakarta, Indonesia. He is also currently the Managing Editor of several journals including Journal on Computing (JoC) and Global Business Review (GBR), and the co-editor of The ICT Age, which will be published later this year. He has worked for several major MNCs in technical and management capacities including IBM, Computer Associates, Sun Mircosystems, Oracle and Singalab. Dr Ravindran spearheaded four IT companies, and has won several entrepreneurship accolades. He has a BSc (Texas) and an MBA (Texas), and obtained a Doctorate degree in IT Management from the University of South Australia, having been awarded the International Information Technology Management Scholarship (merit) to pursue his doctoral degree.

Farid Shirazi, PhD, is a Senior Researcher at the Institute for Innovation and Technology Management at Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada, and an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of the Ted Rogers School of Information Technology Management. Dr Shirazi’s research focuses mainly on the impact of ICTs on social and economic development. His main research interests are IT-enabled sustainability and development, Cloud Computing, E-government strategies, Green IS management, as well as the ethical and security perspectives associated with the introduction and use of ICTs. His publications include articles and chapters in several conference proceedings and journals, including the Journal of E-Business Development; Electronic Journal of Information Systems in Developing Countries; Journal of Telematics and Informatics; and Journal of Information Communication and Ethics in Society.
