I recommend this book to both buysiders and sellsiders. Having covered industrials in both origination and advisory products, I found this text to be a very insightful and well-rounded look into the sector. I particularly valued the segments on the drivers of the sector, the right questions to ask, and of course the discussion on the different areas (ex: railroads, manufacturing, etc...) Pros: +Thoughtful analysis of the different areas that make up industrials +Presents right questions that help in examining a company's merits +Good historical mapping of today's modern manufacturing sector Cons: -A longer discussion of company valuation would be helpful for sellsiders (ex: industry specific ratios) Recommended: "Deciphering defense - an industry primer" by Ronald J. Epstein, Elizabeth Grenfell, Kristine T. Liwag, Celine Fornaro (Bank of America Merrill Lynch)
