David Lee
This book was boring because I was reading it with assumption that it was mainly about DuPont and David Schultz. Instead, the whole books was mainly about Mark Schultz, David's little brother. The DuPont incident is a side story in this book, yet the author has used as a part of the title to generate book sales. This book is really just Mark Schultz's biography, but he knows that he needs his brother's story to sell this book. Gee, one just can never get away from under one's great brother's shadow.

I had great anticipation for this book being a former wrestler, current doctor (for the mental illness of John), and from a small town where a DuPont plant was the #1 employer. This book was very disappointing. It didn't satisfy on any of those fronts. In my opinion, the book was poorly written & more about Mark's life and all of his accolades and regrets. It was too technical at times for the non-wrestler to enjoy and too self centered around Mark for most of the book. The movie is much more riveting.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book; couldn't put it down. After watching the movie, my curiosity grew as to the in depth details of this tragic story. As a former coach, wrestler and brother of a California State Champion who passed away, I can relate to some of Mark's sadden times, as well as he and his brother's triumphs. I would recommend this book to all readers, athletes and non-athletes alike, men and women, parents and mature children. "Thank you Mark for writing this enlightening book."
