Acerca del autor

Navamalati Chakraborty is a professor teaching English. She is a prolific writer and the daughter of a scholarly home. As a writer, the spark of her spirit is found in her poems, her excellent translations, her short stories and her essays. An excellent artist, her exhibitions provide room for study.
 The Resonant Chord is a memoir of the life of Gautam Prasad Baroowah (GPB), a writer, human resource advisor, and Banking Ombudsman who also chose to recite and compose poems. Navamalati wrote about his life, his work and his sensibility, his dedication, perspective and rationale.
This is the writer's second memoir. The first was on her father, the great scholar, Dr. Maheswar Neog.

Nakib Ahmed
is a celebrated newscaster of AIR of yesteryears, who rose to prominence during the Chinese aggression on Indian soil, specifically in the North East. It was his deep baritone as a news-reader, that appealed to his listeners. He studied in Shillong, graduating from St. Edmund's College, and worked as the Director Tourism of Assam and as a news journalist of CIS Cadre, Ministry of information. Later he joined as a senior official of the American Consulate, Calcutta and now is working as Advisor, North East, Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Kolkata. Being a contemporary of GPB, he wrote on the professional and social life on his friend.
