OMG! This book kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat for almost the entire time I was reading it. There were a few breather moments in with all the action. It starts with Lindsey running pell-mell down a mountain with two guys chasing her. She runs into a third guy and winds up going over the edge loosing her flip-flops in the process. Third guy pulls her back up and then confronts the other two guys and incapacitating them and leaving one of them injured. He then leads Lindsey down the mountain into town where they find out that they are wanted for murdering a sheriff's deputy, so now they must band together and figure out not only how to save themselves, but Lindsey's friend who is still being held hostage. Lindsey soon learns that her rescuer, Todd was in the military and he can help her, but he also has his own agenda. There are lots of twists and turns in this story and a couple of them were big surprises. This is one of those books that you don't want to put down until you reach the end. About the author

Growing up, Gwen Hernandez wasn’t brave enough to share the stories in her head with other kids, but they usually involved intrigue and romance. She was raised in the Army and Navy, and married an Air Force engineer, so it’s natural that her Men of Steele series features military heroes and heroines who must overcome danger to find true love.

In her free time, she likes to travel, read, jog, flail on a yoga mat, and explore her current home of southern California.
