The focus in Holy Bible Gems is to present chronologically the significant truths, principles, outstanding stories, key Biblical figures, and major historic events, in the King James version of the Holy Bible. While the reader is encouraged to read the full textual entries, the over-riding highlight throughout the book is the placement of a key bolded and italicized heading succinctly  representing each entry, like a polished Gem.

 

The purpose of this book’s format is to facilitate covering in essence the entire Bible quite rapidly and with assured ease if by reading just the headings alone. The reader can then rely on consistent richness, right to the end of the Bible, without being weighed down with what might be considered vast extraneous material.

Sterling has had an identified interest in writing since one of his grandmothers recognized and acknowledged it to him during his teens. He finished his BS degree in Sociology and English at Brigham Young University following a year of active military service during the Berlin Crisis. Upon graduation, he taught high school English for several years in the Salt Lake area. Then, after receiving his MSW degree at the University of Utah, he served for over thirty years as a clinical social worker and writer/editor for the Utah State Department of Health.

Sterling has served as a humanitarian volunteer in New Zealand. He has also served in numerous service opportunities among diverse cultures in Missouri as well as in Utah. He has served in teaching and leadership roles in his local church. Since his retirement, he has served at an employment resource center  assisting a widely diverse patronage in personal resume writing. He then served as a group leader in an addiction recovery program, working in support groups with people in and out of jail across the Salt Lake Valley.

Sterling has a love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as well as a love of people, nature, adventure, classical music, literature, and writing. He is the father of five grown children, and is currently residing in Salt Lake City with his wife Fusako and their pet cats.

The published works of Sterling include The Resource Manual for Parents of Children with Special Health-care Needs, editor of the latest edition of A Story to Tell, Joseph Speaks, Jesus Christ’s Life: You Gotta Read This!, Jesus Christ Lives: So Great was the Astonishment of the People, Exaltation, the Goal: Exploring the Path, Poetry: A Delightful Journey Through Life, Bicycling: A 1958 Solo Northwest Adventure, and A Thoughtful Calendar. Other yet unpublished works include, Holy Bible Prophets Speak, Prophets Ancient and Modern Speak: A Topical Encyclopedic Approach, and Book of Mormon Gems.
