Amelia Wilde has perfected the art showing the brutal and stunning contradictions of vulnerability and arrogance in her alpha heroes. And that's why I love Mason Hill even more in this story. He has a dark past and he has sacrificed himself over and over again for his family. He has power and money but his heart is a war zone. He wants to punish Charlotte and own her body and yet he cannot deny her calming effect in his stormy life. Charlotte should hate the man who forced her into an unfair contract and wants to destroy her family. But she craves his dominance and control in her chaotic life. She is falling for the broken man behind this aloofness and broody mask. She is fierce and soft and so amazing to see the real Mason and try to make his wounds hurt less. The chemistry is uber hot. Amelia Wilde delivered so much filthy, dirty and kinky hotness that had me salivating badly. This story is high on intense emotions and my heart is breaking into tiny pieces for them. (ARC REVIEW)

I received a copy of this book form the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports. The stakes are higher than money. They're deeper than secrets. They're life or death when Mason Hill sets his sights on the Van Kempt family. Charlotte's hopes and dreams crash down around her. She questions everything, especially her own father. But she's always understood the value of loyalty. She'll defend her parents' lives- even if it means risking her own. Hostile Takeover is the second book in the Wealthy Trilogy. You have to read Net Worth first or you are going to be lost. I was so thrilled to be back in the world of Charlotte and Mason. I really loved them in New Worth and this book picks up right where Net Worth left off. Charlotte though this time, would irritate me to no end because of how she was taking up for her dad in this book. Ugh I so wanted to slap her. And maybe we knew or thought we knew more than she did and I get it I would defend my daddy to the end but I don't know that I would be willing to bet everything on my dad if I wasn't a hundred percent certain I was right about him. I hope that made sense like I wanted it to. But don't worry if you get aggravated with her, you won't stay that way long. She will finally start to believe Mason and stand up for him and help him in his quest. I love these two when they are on the same page and Mason will really steal your heart in this book. Even if you weren't his biggest fan from the first book, you will be singing a different turn when Hostile Takeover is done. I loved when he would lets his walls down the least little bit and we got to see a different side of him. He and Charlotte when they work together is exactly what Mason needed too. The ending of this book might cause you to throw your kindle or fall out of your seat. I sure wasn't expecting that and I think this is not the first time Amelia Wilde has left me a nervous wreck or shocked my pants off and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Amelia Wilde continues to impress and exceed herself with her latest book, Hostile Takeover. Mason Hill and Charlotte Van Kempt's dirty and unconventional romance is still the main star of the show and I loved how much they have transformed since the last time I saw them. The story got even better—more emotional, angsty, and dirtier. The love scenes between Mason and Charlotte were scorching and burned up the pages. Mason is such a complex character and I loved how he felt more “human” in this installment. He is still cruel and continues to humiliates her in the bedroom but Charlotte actually needs and craves that from him—they both do. Besides the spicy scenes, the developing romance between Charlotte and Mason has become one my favorite parts about this series so far. Amelia Wilde has this amazing ability to write some incredibly emotional and heartbreaking scenes as well as highly erotic ones. The book does end with a cliffhanger that will have you gasping for more. I highly recommend this series to those who love the contract and revenge romance trope with a complex and sometimes cruel anti-hero who has come to need his sweet and kind heroine—even while he debases her in the name of revenge.
