I doubted this book at first as it felt like I was reading a cheap twilight knockoff at the beginning. Some similarities between the two during the canteen scene and other little moments but i persevered and it was well worth it. I truly enjoyed it and can see I will be getting hooked on this series.

Let me start by saying there is not a original idea of the authors own in this book. Even down to the light that kills vampires. Can we say sookie form true blood. Everything in this book is a rip off from a show movie or book already out there smushed together. Very predictable with the senerios. It's just ok at best. Mostly due to the unoriginality of it all.

This book was both interesting and inspiring. The story constantly made me crave more, and the consistent development left me satisfied with the outcome. With it's small romantic moments and the intriguing relationship between Kira and Tristan and the conflict between them, both and the vampires, even though Tristan was one himself, made the story interesting. I wouldn't change it if I could. The cliffhangers at the ends of the chapters nearly killed me from the suspense and the over all plot left me content. I just wish the other books were free.
