The main aim of the book is to enhance the reader's knowledge – especially from a multidisciplinary perspective rather than from an individual functional perspective –the role of the globalization in the evolving world of the new technologies. This book will overview the process of globalization from a number of perspectives, including historical, geographical and social viewpoints while focusing on the new technologic products and services. Globalization and its effects on the innovative technology sector are best examined in terms of the social ramifications, and especially the geographical and political and economic (or political economy) contexts, at and between different levels, including the local, the regional and the global.
