About the author

Ioannis Solos PhD., MMed., MD (China)., LAc, holds a Master's of Medicine from the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and a Medical PhD in Integrative Medicine from the Jinan University in Guangzhou. He is the author of the "Gold Mirrors and Tongue Reflections", and "Developing Internal Energy for Effective Acupuncture Practice". He has also co-authored the "Ao Shi Shang Han Jin Jing Lu - Shi Sheng Du Shu Bi Ji" (in Chinese), and the "Chinese Medicine Diagnostics" for the World Textbook Series for Chinese Medicine Core Curriculum (Chinese and English). Dr. Solos is classically trained in Acupuncture and Canonic Herbalism (Jing Fang). He is a world-renowned authority on tongue diagnosis, and his published research focuses on the application of tongue observation in historical and modern epidemics. His clinical expertise also includes orthopedic acupuncture for spinal and musculoskeletal problems, neuro-acupuncture for neurological disease rehabilitation, and his own set of manipulations for "tendon and fascia reconditioning" for joint and spinal diseases. Ioannis is an established academician, as well as a popular lecturer. He is currently serving in the editorial boards of several academic journals and is involved in numerous committees for the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies.
