On the first day of Ninna’s new employment at a local animal shelter, she’s thinking only that she desperately needs this job. That one of the dogs might talk to her is the farthest thing from her mind. Is the basset hound, Mosey, a fat old smart aleck or is Ninna going nuts?

It’s not as if she doesn’t have plenty of other things to worry about—such as the fact that a rash of break-ins have happened in the neighborhood, plus she feels as if she’s being watched all the time. The only bright spot seems to be the gorgeous male veterinarian who happens to live in the big mansion across the street from her tiny house—and his home is big enough to hold quite a few animals, including the impudent motor-mouth Mosey.

 

Ninna jumps at the chance to dog-sit for her cute neighbor and coworker, insisting it’s all part of her weekend trial as a pet owner. If she gains romantic points with the vet in the process, more the better. Mosey looks forward to getting to know Ninna better. For the stalker tracking Ninna’s every movement, her weekend getaway spells nefarious opportunity …
