There was no romance, the "hero" had no personality and was indifferent to the heroine. Neither main character showed any real affection to the other, there was no reason for them to be together. The tone for the rapist story felt weirdly off, and seemed to be attempting humor when it shouldn't be. It wasn't a good choice of subject for these shallow characters, and they couldn't show the nuance of emotion that was required to make this sort of plot work.

It was OK the love chemistry between ty and Cassie was just not there. I hardly was there in book 1 and book 2 was mostly about catching the rapist. Other than the crime plot the book was very boring. Sorry.
