Drive You Wild, by Jennifer Bernard, is the third book in her Love Between the Bases series and Ms. Bernard hits this story out of the park. The hero is Trevor Stark, the phenom hitter for the Kilby Catfish, a triple A baseball team in Kilby, Texas. The heroine is Paige Mattingly Austin Taylor, the daughter of team owner Crush Taylor. Paige returns to Kilby after her divorce from a basketball player. She is at lost ends and does not know what to do. Crush decides that Paige will learn about the operations of owning a baseball team. Trevor is a complex character. There are secrets in his past which is why he seems to be constantly sabotaging his chance to get called up to the big league. Unfortunately, some of the secrets come out, causing him problems in Kilby. The chemistry and attraction between these two hits it out of the park. This was a fun and entertaining story with loveable characters that you want to support and cheer on hoping for that happy ending. I loved the way Ms. Bernard brought humor and sexy into this story as well as a little suspense. The characters were well written and complex. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I genuinely enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. I highly recommend this book, and all others previously written by Jennifer Bernard to all readers and I cannot wait for the next story in this series. DRIVE YOU WILD is an epic romance, with captivating characters, magnificent descriptions of baseball games, and a good dose of mystery and suspense, which Jennifer Bernard weaves into an amazing book. The build-up to the romance is masterful, the writing incandescent, seamless and flowing, and the dialogues ring so true you can hear the characters’ voices. I couldn’t wait to know what Trevor’s secret was, and his sacrifice is heartbreaking. DRIVE YOU WILD is riveting from the first page to the last; I couldn’t read it quickly enough and yet I did not want to miss one single little detail. DRIVE YOU WILD is tender and sexy, intense and light, fun and suspenseful. There is the excitement of playoff games, the wonder of falling in love, and the camaraderie and hopes of a minor professional sports team. DRIVE YOU WILD is a resounding success! What an awesome addition to this series! It has just the right amount of baseball, romance, and angst to make a great story. Trevor Stark has been with the Kilby Catfish for what seems like forever. Somebody with his talent and drive should have gotten the call long ago but each time it seems to be near, something will happen that makes the big league teams back away. It's almost like he doesn't want to make it! Paige is the new intern with the Catfish and just happens to be the owners daughter. She's been warned to stay away from Trevor and really considering her past she should be running far far away, but there is just something about him that draws her to him. She's determined to find out his secrets and possibly win his heart. A great read that should be on everyone's must read list. I highly recommend it.
