as someone anxiously awaiting Strange New Worlds, I loved this! it wasn't totally perfect canonically, but things have changed since this was written. still a solid Captain Pike/Spock story! cant wait for the next book with this version of these characters.

someone didn't do the homework. the first enterprise does NOT have a separation mode like the D does.
