John Watkinson has demonstrated a fundamental misunderstanding of the laws of physics in his chapter section (2.7) on "kinetic energy" and so-called downwind turns. Readers would be well advised to seek professional guidance before accepting his assertions. His publishers should take care not to distribute egregiously misleading material without adequate peer review.

John Watkinson is an independent international consultant in advanced applications of electronics to audiovisual and avionics systems. He is a Fellow of the AES, a member of the Society of Expert Witnesses, and the British Computer Society and is a chartered information systems practitioner. He presents lectures, seminars and training courses worldwide.
