Turns out I knew more than I thought. Not so much of a beginner as an improver. I found this book really helpful to tie together things I'd self taught and read on the internet. Plus a few gems I didn't know that I now use each day

So far I've survived Linux by using websites with lists of commands to do what I want. If they don't work I'm stumped. Now I have a basic understanding of what's actually happening and what I can do to control what I want. I'd love to see the author do a book in this style with information on Xwindows and window managers.

Great reference! This book was very clearly written and is a useful resource to refer to when forgetting basic commands for a beginner.
