Three years ago I was enrolled in Dr.Friction's Pain Managrment Course: Myofascial Dyfunction although I am not a medical student my intention then was to complete my training to work as a PA in Internal Medicine. Dr. Friction class was the beginning of my understanding "knots" known in the medical community as myofascial trigger points. These knots occur when muscle fibers become tense and tighten causing intense pain and continues until identified as such and treated. The earlier editions of Travell, Simons & Simons Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction is remarkable and this third edition continues to offer more understanding on knot development. Thank you Dr. Joseph M. Donnelly for continuing their work.
