I read this memoir in a single sitting, unable to put it down. I only wish that I had known years ago that "Dean Judy" had endured such a horrific period in her young life. I knew her at Bates College when she was Dean of Students. I admired her then and respect her even more now.

About the author

Judith Magyar Isaacson is a retired dean of students at Bates College. She is a survivor of Auschwitz-Birkenau and Hessisch-Lichtenau.
