About the author
Julie Fry is a consulting economist who divides her time between New York and a family farm near Motueka. She has worked on migration policy issues since the early 1990s, designing programmes and advising agencies including The Treasury, Te Puni Kōkiri, and HM Treasury in London. Julie has Masters degrees in economics from both the University of Canterbury and Lincoln University, and she received a Nuffield Fellowship to research discrimination issues at the University of Warwick in Coventry.
Hayden Glass is a consultant with the Sapere Research Group, an Australasian firm with its headquarters in Wellington. He has long been interested in the economics of immigration and has worked on various aspects of the issues over time, including for The Treasury and for MBIE.
Hayden is also the COO of Figure.NZ (formerly Wiki New Zealand), a social enterprise focused on making New Zealand’s public data easier to find and easier to use in pursuit of a country where everyone uses data in their daily lives.
Hayden has a Masters in Law and a BA from Canterbury University. He has also studied mathematics and economics.
