About the author

Dr Jung-ran Park is an assistant professor at the College of Information Science and Technology at Drexel University. Her teaching areas include metadata, digital libraries, content representation and cataloguing and classification. She is a researcher and has published extensively on metadata and its applications in leading journals. Dr. Park delivers papers at nationally and internationally recognized conferences and workshops. She is currently guest editor for the special issue on Metadata Best Practices for the Journal of Library Metadata. Dr. Park is the principal investigator of a four-year (2006-2010) grant entitled Metadata Creation and Metadata Quality Control across Digital Collections: Evaluation of Current Practices from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
