Cash is a shy reclusive mountain man,who doesn't come into town very often. Hope has moved recently to the small town of Whisky River and wants to put down her roots. When they meet in the grocery store they instantly are attracted to each other.They start to spend time together and soon are in a relationship. Hope likes Cash's friends and gets on well with them and becomes friends with their wives who are happy that Cash has found someone to love. When Hope's past comes knocking on her door and she doesn't feel safe anymore,Cash gets very protective of her. A sweet steamy love story with a bit of suspense thrown in. Highly reccomend this book. Hope and Cash couldn’t be more perfect for each other and I really couldn’t help but fall in love with them as the book went on. While they don’t have a lot of experience in love, the way that they are drawn to one another is beautiful to see. Hope is a book editor and you may recognise references to other books written by this author..which I have read and thoroughly enjoyed them. Following a deprived childhood, a drug addled mother with an appalling choice in men, Hope left home as soon as she was able. Her travels bring her to Whiskey Ridge. Cash has led a sheltered life, brought up by his brother who is now deceased. He has a solitary living up in the mountains. The relationship between this couple is wonderful. She is more outgoing, but understands his reserved nature. They can bring out the best in each other and his protective character is wonderful, especially when her mother reappears asking for money. Cole is the perfect boyfriend..love this author. Her characters and situations are well developed, with strength and weakness complicating and complimenting each other.
