About this ebook

He's hiding from his past, she is running from hers. No one would could have guessed their pasts would collide in the Montana Mountains...

Sage

I need a safe place to get away for a few days. My college roommate's family cabin in the middle of nowhere Montana is perfect.

Maybe I should have called to ask permission first, then I would have found out the cabin had been sold... to Jack.

I go to leave planning to spend the night in my car... only my car won't start.

Jack may take pity on me and offer to let me stay a few nights until my car is fixed, but he doesn't know I have no place to go from there.

I won't be safe anywhere.

But my past catches up with me all too quickly in the small Montana town and now I'm out of time...

Jack

I finally got my own cabin in the Whiskey River mountains.

Only it wasn't supposed to come with a curvy temptress in my living room.

I'm unsure of her intentions until I see the bruises on her skin.

I vow whoever put them there will pay, I will protect this woman at costs.

Only I never could have guessed how truly entwined our pasts really are and now I know I'm the last person who she should feel safe with.

Even if she is the only person who can truly pull me from the darkness...

Quick easy read: This was a quick read and although it dealt with domestic abuse, it thankfully wasn't too heavy. It is part of a series but could nevertheless be read as a standalone. I am afraid though that I really did not like the ebook cover and I would not purchase this book if I saw it. It was love at first sight for Jack and Sage and even though their relationship progressed very quickly, there wasn't all that much chemistry or spice between them. Whilst the suspense aspect was rather predictable, I still enjoyed the tension that this added to the story. Sage escaped to her friend's uncle's cabin for her life not knowing Jack bought the place. Jack helps women from the shelter and recognized the signs in Sage. As he tried to help her gain the confidence she could live on her own without the ex, they fall in love. Sweet novella that fits really well with this series.
