About this ebook

Wynter Dawn had been in the wrong place at the wrong time. She had gone to the mall to get a well-deserved birthday present for her mother when all hell broke loose. She had taken four bullets herself, but too many others had died. Now, the police were trying say she was an accomplice and pin the blame for the others’ deaths on her. They were going for the death penalty.

Tristan Manning had never met Wynter before, but when Xavier rescued her from the courthouse, Tristan was called to Cooper’s home. When he arrived, the dragon tattoo, the one he’d had since birth, came alive and was clawing his way forward. The pain was excruciating. When he entered the room, Wynter was screaming in pain as her dragon tattoo was doing the same. When the dragons came forth in a burst of magic, both Tristan and Wynter passed out.

Eric had been tasked centuries ago with killing any and all newborn dragons before the eggs could hatch. But somehow he’d missed one and he needed to rectify that there would be hell to pay….

'Tristan' is the fifth book in Kathi S. Barton's "The Manning Dragons" series. It seems that Wynter Dawn, Tristan's fated mate, has had nothing but trouble put in her path since she turned eighteen. This time, she truly was in the wrong place at the wrong time but no one seemed to believe her. That's why she's been arrested for shooting eight people at the mall. Those weren't the only ones that had succumbed to the shootout but she was being charged as an accomplice. Hudson becomes involved as her attorney and of course, that brings Wynter into the family circle. The mystery behind the dragon tattoos is thrilling, but we don't get much more once we find out what they are and their purpose. I'm hoping they'll come into play in Xavier's book because I was totally fascinated with them. Sadie makes her final appearance with all the Manning brother's parents had left them. And if you've been following along, and are like me in thinking the dragon slayers had been dealt with, think again. The original slayer comes into play with nefarious plots, plans, and intentions. Oh, and the books they've received tell of a female dragon being born and given the same magic to turn human. It's quite exciting and moves along quickly. I hate this series is almost over but it's been thrilling to read.
