About the author

Kathleen Fischer received a PhD from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California, and an MSW from the University of Washington. She is the author of numerous articles and books, including the award-winning Paulist Press titles Transforming Fire, Autumn Gospel, Women at the Well and, with her husband Thomas Hart, Christian Foundations. She has been a teacher, counselor, and spiritual director in Seattle, Washington, for more than twenty-five years, and is currently engaged in consulting, workshops, and writing.
