Kerstin Emming, 1965 in Recklinghausen geboren, ist gelernte Friseurin. Ihre mittlerweile erwachsene Tochter Angelina kommt mehrfach schwerstbehindert zur Welt. Die Ehe zerbricht an den Belastungen. Jahrelang kümmert sich Kerstin allein aufopferungsvoll um das Mädchen, bis sie zwei Schlaganfälle und ein Autounfall in den Rollstuhl zwingen. Kerstin droht sich aufzugeben, bis ihr ein kleiner Mischlingshund begegnet ... Heute lebt Kerstin in der Nähe von Münster.
