Ratings and reviews

As this was advertised a romance, I have to give it 3 stars. As a paranormal adventure, I would give it 4 stars. This is primarily a story about a family who discover the immortal world and the fact that they are blessed by the Blessed King. The brothers enter the immortal realm to save their sister Juliana after she is supposedly kidnapped by the Unblessed King, Merrick. This story is told in a six POV. Some questions are left unanswered, maybe for the rest of the series.

NOT my usual genre - don't really like historical romance as I'm too much of a Historian!! However, as it was by Michelle Pillow, one of my automatic buy authors I decided to give it a go. Set in the early part of the 2nd millennium on a non-existent shore in England it was easy to get lost in this new world, as there were no real landmarks to get you stuck in the landscape. It's most definitely well written and the wording and setting certainly don't jar and fit with the time period.

Every author is allowed a one off. Michelle M. Pillow has always been a solid read for me, but this book never grabbed me. I never connected with the characters, the story was convoluted, I just couldn't finish this one. Sorry, not for me. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
