Rating 4.5 This is book 1 of the River Rain series. If you haven’t read the prequel, After the Climb, you should probably start there, but there is good backstory in this book. I would call this book steamy, not necessarily erotica. There's more sex in this story than the prequel. This is the story of Chloe and Judge. They are totally opposites, but they find out they work. This is a cute story about the dance between two people to find their hea.

This was fun. I liked the banter between Chloe and Judge that they had from their first meeting. It's not a meet-cute and I liked it. While they fought their attraction, you can't help but see that they are perfect for each other. They brought out different sides to each other and I liked how the author showcased that. While I would have preferred less descriptions into Chloe's wardrobe, I did enjoy the multiple point of views (it's not just Chloe and Judge's) and the traveling between the past and present. I can't wait for the next book and I will be picking up the prequel as I hadn't read that.

Chasing Serenity by Kristen Ashley is about a very independent woman, Chloe Pierce, who cares for her family, each one of them. She is the eldest daughter of a famous actress and an equally famous professional tennis player. She has two siblings, a brother and a sister. Chloe was taught to take care of her family and the people she loves the most, and she learned this from the man who is no longer around. It's a difficult lesson to learn. She meets Judge Oakley he changes everything. The story started slowly for me; however, it picked up once Judge enters the picture. I can't wait to see what comes next in this series!
