This sixth Heaven Hill short is one that I've been waiting for. These short stories give us the aftermath of the events in Fury, and Charity's story certainly tugs at the heartstrings. Trying to find a new normal after everything that happened would be difficult at best, but for Justice's mother, it's next to impossible, especially when you factor in Harley, who is always a bit of a challenge. She and Drew have such a strong relationship, and even though this is a short story, Laramie Briscoe shows that solid foundation beneath them. This one gives us Charity's doubts and fears as well as her faith in Drew. I've fallen in love with this MC family, and they are without a doubt family, and I'm thoroughly enjoying these little glimpses of each character. This one is easily read in under an hour, so it's perfect for a bedtime read or a relaxing afternoon or evening curl up on the couch read.

In this Heaven Hills Short we get Charity's perspective and emotions after the devastating betrayal. Charity is strong, fierce and vulnerable in this book. Her relationship with Drew and her girls was well written. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

In this story we really see the ramifications of what Travis did and the devastation left behind. We get to see how a mother struggles with feeling that her children are safe after something awful already happened. We get to see how Drew reacts as a husband and father to how his family has been broken. You really see all the people who were affected by one person's actions and how they struggle to put it behind them and be the family they were. I love these glimpses into everyone's lives, it gives us more time with the characters we love. I would definitely recommend this book and I'm looking forward to reading the next book by the supremely talented Ms. Briscoe as each book no matter the series just keeps getting better and blows my mind. I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion of this book.
