I love Laramie's books. This won't to down as my favorite but I still highly recommend. I think I mainly struggled with the entire concept of his community service and letting a small girl hang out with a grown man with a criminal record. Once I tried to get past this at baseline the entire story was lovely. A mildly alpha hero in instalove getting the family he deserves and a mistreated single mom getting her happily ever after. The little girl in this story really makes it sweet and funny. She's such a wonderful side character. I'm off to see if Giovanni already has his own story or if he will in the future!. Trick: Special Edition is a steamy, opposites-attract, small town, and second-chance romance. Hadley is a single mom to an adorable daughter, Riley. Patrick (Trick) is out of jail after serving time. He admits his crimes and is now doing community service hours. Hadley's ex never wanted kids, and when she got pregnant, he was not happy. They divorced, and his new young girlfriend didn't want Riley around. Hadley enrolls her in a companion program to try to match her with a male role model. She is paired with Trick. The initial meeting doesn't go so well, but you really see a bond form as they spend time together. He and Riley (Sprite) are totally adorable together. The chemistry with him and Hadley is hot 🔥 as their relationship grows. This romance was so realistic and had roadblocks, but the characters held strong together. There was some drama and angst, but then we got a very happy ending!!!! I loved all the bonuses, too. I received a free copy to optionally review.

This was so good. A really romantic, and heart warming story about two people who have had to fight for everything they have. Hadley a single mom to Riley, joined a companion program for kids who didn't have a fatherly influence, and they were matched to Trick, an ex con working to better himself. I enjoyed the connection between Trick and Hadley as she was willing to give him a chance but he didn't feel like he was worth it. But she also hasn't had anyone's support so when he offered it, it was hard for her to deal with it, but she did for Riley's sake. The story really struck a few cords with some of the subjects covered like abandonment and feeling of self worth etc A really touching story, that was romantic but also had a little suspense and lots of tense moments.
