Now, the future of Ringworld lies in the actions of its children: Tunesmith, the Ghould protector; Acolyte, the exiled son of Speaker-to-Animals, and Wembleth, a strange Ringworld native with a mysterious past. All must play a dangerous in order to save Ringworld's population, and the stability of Ringworld itself.

A relatively disappointing follow-up to the otherwise awesome Ringworld series. Although it's not without interesting twists and turns, characters and concepts, some of the transitions are confusing and the whole thing felt really rushed and lacking the detail and finesse of previous installments in the series. If Niven was as uninterested in continuing Ringworld as I suspect he may have been, why even bother? Possibly the most annoying thing about the book is the apparent lack of editing. Obviously done by a computer spell-check program because the copy I have is filled with misspellings as in the correct word is substituted for a similar real word that is incorrect (like "on" substituted for "in" etc.). This shows a major lack of competence on the part of the publishing company and I'll certainly hesitate before buying another TOR book in the future.
