Wonderful short read! Nehmetawy has lived a life under Ra's thumb for too long. She chooses to defy Ra and go out on her own, gaining her freedom away from Ra's control. Ra wants his eye back, so he sends people out to convince her to return to Karnak. Nothing has worked until Thoth. If she is to return to Karnak, she vows not to serve Ra's. With Thoth help, she does just that. This was a great story that I highly enjoyed. It is a great story of taking control back over her life, discovering herself, and making a life for herself. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This the 18th book in the “Forgotten Gods Series.” This an entertaining, easy, quick fast-paced read, great characters an interesting plot. Nehmetawy is gaining her freedom from Ra no longer wanting to be under the influence. Ra wants Nehmetawy back. Then Thoth comes along and does his best to convince Nehmetawy to return to Karnak. Nehmetawy has made up her mind and if and when she does return, she will do nothing to help Ra. I enjoyed the interaction between Nehmetawy and Thoth.

The Distant Goddess. What an intriguing story about Ra’s weapon, The Eye of Ra. Having feelings for a supposed inanimate object turns sentient, the Eye goes on a journey of self discovery and what her magic can do. She even names herself Nehmetawy. The slow burn romance between Thoth, the god of wisdom and knowledge, and Nehmetawy is tender. I like that she found a friend in Thoth and learned from his mentorship on being a god. I received a free copy of this book to leave honest review.
