About this ebook

As if temple politics wasn’t enough, now Ani has to deal with the royal court.

Having aided with the mummification of the previous Pharaoh, Ani is somewhat surprised to discover she's expected to stay in Egypt for longer, this time to serve during the coronation of the next one.

Despite her budding friendship with the new Queen, Ani thought she'd be at home, but instead, she's dealing with the displeasure of the High Blessed, attention from the royal court, and run-ins with her sort-of-ex.

At least she doesn't have to do it alone, and with Nik and Matia by her side, she can do anything.

Ani is relieved that her part in the mummification and funeral of the late Pharaoh has finished and isn't happy to find out that she is expected to play a role in the upcoming coronation of the new one. Ani wants nothing more than to go home and be done with all the politics but her friendship with the new queen keeps her in Egypt. I absolutely love Ani, Nik and Matia, Ani’s blessed jackal is always a fun addition to the cast of characters. This is a slow burn, sweet romance and is a must read.

I feel like I just finished a marathon having read all 11 plus one spin off. So Ani and Iset start their budding friendship. Ani is just so humble and grounded despite everything that has happened to her. It’s like she kind of understands her position but would rather just be plain Ani. So good and I am happy there are other spin offs to tide me over until the next book comes out in May. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Ani doesn't know why the High Blessed dislikes her, but she deals with it in the only way she knows how, by spending time with Nik and Matia. After attending multiple Court events and working in the mortuary, a tired Ani is thrilled when it is time to return to London. This quick read has plenty of misunderstandings, and lots of love and romance, ending with a cliffhanger. Very highly recommended. I received a copy of this book in a box set via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
