Although this story wasn't as adventurous as the first book, I really enjoyed the story line and liked finding out about Mila, Raine's sister, and her involvement in the marriage market, and her reason for doing it. I am going to really enjoy reading about Raine and Cobalt's relationship and can't wait for more adventure to happen to Raine and her two friends Zelda and Cobalt. This was a vert enjoyable read! 'Igniting the Coals' is book two in Laura Greenwood's "Dragon Duels" series. It's just one of those books that is purely fictional that allowed me to just absorb a story that wasn't dark or twisted, which is a genre I thoroughly enjoy. Raine and Cobalt have survived the arena challenge and Raina has been drafted into the Dragon Defenders which is the elite guard who keep the White Towers safe. Their new lives have started and Raina has discovered she can talk to Dragons! Can you imagine? There are new friendships, romances, fear, indignation, and a rescue that wasn't needed. It was just easy to immerse myself in Laura Greenwood's story.

I was really excited for this second book and I am happy to say that it exceeded my expectations. We pick up with Raine and Cobalt after the Dragon Duels as they go into training to become Dragon Defenders. She enjoys the training but has a lot of catching up to do because most of the winners grew up being trained but lucky for her she has Cobalt and a new friend, Zelda, to help give her extra help. Her and Cobalt's relationship starts evolving and it is really sweet and I thoroughly enjoyed how things are playing out between the two of them. When Raine discovers her sister has been drafted into the Marriage Market she is horrified but discovers things might not be as dire for her as she thought. But the most exciting thing of all is what Raine discovers about dragons and that definitely makes me extremely excited to see how the plot arcs in the next book.
