About this ebook

Stalking and restraining orders are a thing of Alayna Wither's past. With her MBA newly in hand, she has her future figured out--move up at the nightclub she works at and stay away from any guy who might trigger her obsessive love disorder. A perfect plan.

But what Alayna didn't figure on is Hudson Pierce, the new owner of the nightclub. He's smart, rich, and gorgeous--the kind of guy Alayna knows to stay away from if she wants to keep her past tendencies in check.

Except, Hudson's fixed his sights on her.

He wants her in his bed and makes no secret of it. Avoiding him isn't an option after he offers a business proposition she can't turn down and she's drawn further into his universe, unable to resist his gravitational pull.

When she learns Hudson has a dark history of his own, she realizes too late that she's fallen for the worst man she could possibly get involved with.

Or maybe their less than ideal pasts give them an opportunity to heal each other and finally find the love their lives have been missing.

You can stop after this book. there is an ending of sorts. But I read book 2 to see what happened next with Hudson & Alayna. Interesting dynamic with both having mental health "issues" in their pasts. But their sexual relationship is more than just fine. 🔥It is very spicy in books 1 & 2. You aren't sure of Hudson's thoughts motivations etc. b/c all from POV of Laynie. I felt for both characters' desire to be loved and rooted for them to make it as a solid couple. Emotions are deeper & more complex than my usual romance read, as I have noticed in the 4 books I've read so far by Laurel Paige. 12/13/16, 8/18/20, 9/17/20

I loved reading this book. It was the first one I read by Laurelin Paige but definitely it won't be the last one. I loved Hudson and Alayna. Their story was intriguing and it kept me glued to my tablet until I finished the last word. The connection and understanding between the main characters felt real and I loved the way they were stumbling with their problems and at the same time helping each other with fighting their pasts. I am definitely intrigued to see how their relationship and connection will develop in the other two books in the series and I am definitely anxious to read Hudson's POV Definitely a recommended read.

Even though both Hudson and Alayna are flawed individuals with troubling past tendencies, together they become a good couple that supports the others' insecurities. There is a whole lot of push pull and will they or won't they in this story, but it's a fun sexy ride. There appears to be a sequel to this story, but it concludes enough to stand alone w/o a cliffhanger ending.

About the author

With over 1 million books sold, Laurelin Paige is the NY Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today Bestselling Author of the Fixed Trilogy. She's a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there's kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn't seem to complain, however. When she isn't reading or writing sexy stories, she's probably singing, watching Game of Thrones and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Michael Fassbender. She's also a proud member of Mensa International though she doesn't do anything with the organization except use it as material for her bio.
