Most of all, it throws up questions for her about what it means to be a half-dragon, now that the connection she felt with her witch side of the family has gotten so tainted.

This is the fifth novella in the Guarding Their Dragon Mate serial, a six episodes long reverse harem #WhyChoose story. This novella may include any of these elements: steamy scenes, ‘I need tissues NOW’ moments, cries of ‘why, oh, why’ and cliffhangers that make you bite your nails (and curse the author).

This story takes place in the same world as the Lughnasadh Elite Academy and happens after the events from the other series. Both series can be read stand-alone, they are about different characters, but they are connected.

This is the continuing story of Sophia and her mates. When Sophia and her men finally get into the magically locked room in the library, they find out her father’s side of the family has been doing research for the Fae for quite a long time. Their snooping around in the room also alerts people and Sophia’s half-elf sister shows up to check out what’s going on. They end up in a fight and her sister flees. Sophia hopes to find her and the laboratories where the Earth dragons have been taken. But Sophia has overused her magic and it causes some problems for them when she over-reacts later. [Regarding low stars because you jump into the middle of the series, skipping the first 4 episodes, don’t forget that this is a “serial”. It should not surprise you when #6 comes up soon and is another short continuation of the story. That is how a serial is written – cliffhanger type and short. Not starting at the beginning can indeed leave you a bit confused, but that is not the fault of the author.]

Sophia is overwhelmed by meeting her half-sister and what she had to say. She realizes she will have to go after her. They make plans to be able to leave. Sophia over does it using her magic, she has no choice but to rest. She wakes up with everyone thoughts in her head. She starts to lose control of her anger, her dragon is trying to break free. Sophia doesn't recognize the signs, tries something dangerous for quiet. The guys have a serious take with Sophia over what happened. She doesn't really want to hear it, but realizes the truth of the situation. Sophia comes to the decision that she can't endanger the lives of her hoard over her fear. Sophia and the others leave to try to find her sister and the research center. Sophia realizes too late that they should have never done it. The fifth book in the Guarding Their Dragon Mate series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Sophie and her men make it into the magically locked room but they trip an alarm. There is suspense, drama, danger, secrets, twists, turns, and romance. I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
