Step one in starting my new life: Don’t fall for my shrink.

Scratch that. Step one is settling my daughter in our new small town life.

I agreed to let cameras follow me around, but stay the hell away from my kid.

And screw the storyline about a grumpy single dad finding love.

I’m here for the fresh start.

It’s bad enough I’ve got these sessions with sexy psychologist Mari.

Mari and her foul-mouthed parrot and her love of quirky trivia.

Mari and our blazing hot kiss in a bizarre underground bunker.

I can’t fall for her.

See, I’m pretty sure the good doc’s hiding something huge.

And a woman with secrets is a recipe for heartache.

Take it from a guy who knows.

A romance like this is forbidden six ways to Sunday.

So why can’t we keep our hands off each other?

Let it Show is book 2 in the Juniper Ridge series by Tawna Fenske. 4.5 stars Up next is Mari and Griffin’s story. Mari, a psychologist has left Hollywood and with her siblings are building a sustainable town/reality TV show. When she meets Griffin, local brewmaster and his daughter Sophie, they all connect on a level nobody expected until Mari discovers who Griffin’s ex is… I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

4 star Review Let It Show (Juniper Ridge Romantic Comedies #2) by Tawna Fenske AUDIO REVIEW: Tawna Fenske is a relatively new author to me and I have no idea how I have not come across her before. I was invested in this story from the first chapter and as with the first book in this series, this was a quirky and rather unique story line. Narrators Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon did a good job bringing this story to life and added to my enjoyment of the story. I loved the relationship that Griffin has with his daughter and it had me chuckling as he tried to walk the minefield of dealing with a teenage daughter. This was an entertaining read that drew me in and had me hooked on Griffin and Mari’s story; I really liked them, they were easy to relate to. Their biggest issue is that she is the therapist who is there to help those who have joined the project and the last thing she should be doing is crossing the line with Griffin. However attraction sizzles between them. What will happen when truths that have been buried come to light? Will Griffin be able to forgive Mari for her omissions? Or will he walk away?

As with every Tawna Fenske book I’ve been fortunate enough to pick up, this was another fun and amusing read with endearing characters tumbling into a sweet and sexy romance, which is my favorite kind and honestly - they should all be as such! The witty and engaging storylines held numerous interesting, unusual, and entertaining elements such as a fledgling new romance, major life and career transitions, the foibles of being a therapist and a human, a swearing parrot, living in a new reality show community, celebrity, a shifty and shallow ex, damaging secrets, itchy family issues, and beer. Something to please everyone – and that is not just the former therapist in me talking as that naughty bird certainly put more than a few smirks on my face.
