About the author

Alice Korngold is a national consultant to businesses, foundations, nonprofit organizations, and universities in the areas of leadership development, corporate community involvement, the governance of nonprofit boards, strategic planning, philanthropy, and volunteerism. She was the founding president and chief executive officer of Business Volunteers Unlimited (BVU), which has trained and placed over one thousand business executives on three hundred nonprofit boards. Her work at BVU has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The Chronicle of Philanthropy.
