About this eBook

From USA Today bestselling author Claudia Burgoa comes a brand new Kentbury novella where the grumpy recluse might meet his match. Except, that’s his best friend’s little sister who’s way out of his league.

Up until a year ago, I had everything going for me.

A husband, children . . . the best apartment in SOHO.

Everything was great until a business deal went wrong and I was no longer useful.

I lost everything, including custody of my kids.

My father disowned me, just like my sister before me.

Fortunately, one of my brothers took me into his home.

I’m picking up the pieces, learning to handle my grandmother’s bakery…

And dealing with my brother’s best friend.

Henrik Tremblay is grumpy, infuriating, and too handsome for my broken heart.

It’s impossible to avoid him in this small town.

And when my grandmother pushes us to organize the annual love festival. . . I get the feeling only one of us will come out of this alive.

Let the mind games begin.

With her life in quite a mess, Louanne chose to face her siblings now living in Kentbury. I loved the support that was shown by family and the residents of Kentbury. All were able to look past any hurt or attitude, and were very welcoming. Henrik was given a second chance with Louanne, and he was so supportive and protective of Louanne. With the help of others, Louanne's life was greatly improved, and her children were returned to her. I enjoyed this story and love the friendliness of Kentbury.

Although not a long read, I quickly became invested in the story that Ms. Burgoa wove. Henrik is a retired hockey player and who knew Lou years ago. Now they have re connected the bond is still there. He’s a bit of a grump but he is determined to bring some light into Lou’s life and I loved how he was there for her. Narrators Mackenzie Cartwright and Grayson Owens gave so much emotion to Lou and Henrik as the story evolved.

This is a sweet find-yourself-again, childhood crush, small-town novella that can be read as a standalone but is part of a series Lots of small-town meddling, humor, family, and a whole lot of smexy that was a perfect fireside read during last night's storm
