About this ebook

Enjoy this clean, small town, holiday romance by award winning and bestselling author, Lucinda Race

Hockey, holidays, and a slap shot to the heart

Jillian Morgan, single mom and flower shop owner, once had a promising career as a women’s hockey player. Instead, she now has a precocious six-year-old daughter who loves hockey as much as she did. Jillian’s focus is her daughter and the busy upcoming holiday season in the small town of Dickens. Then a newcomer stops in for flowers. He might be good looking—no, great looking—but Jillian doesn’t need a complication of the male variety.

Brett Parsons hasn’t held a hockey stick in ten years, not since an injury ended his dreams of being an NHL star. He’s moved to Dickens to help his newly widowed mother. With a recently broken engagement, and still unpacking while looking for a job as a physical therapist, he doesn’t have any interest in dating. But he might make an exception for the pretty blue-eyed florist.

Brett’s delighted when he takes a job coaching the local youth hockey group and find’s Jillian’s daughter on his team. Jillian’s not the average hockey mom, and Brett’s looking forward to discovering her secrets. In spite of the attraction, Jill’s wary. It’s easier to stay single than to have her heart broken again. But both of them know life rarely turns out as planned. In a town that cherishes Christmas, hockey pucks and holly berries might just lead to kisses under the mistletoe.

Holly Berries and Hockey Pucks is the second novel in A Dickens Holiday Romance Series, although each book can be read as standalone. A sweet and clean romantic story with a guaranteed happily ever after. Happy reading!

I really liked how even though I haven't read the first book in this series I didn't feel like I was missing things as just enough information was provided to give you a good picture, in saying that I do want to go back and read the first book. Jillian has made I wouldn't say sacrifices in life but changes in the direction her life went when she had the chance to be a Mum and while she is a strong independent woman with a amazing daughter Melanie and supportive parents she wont allow herself to open up to love again. Recent new comer to Dickens Brett wasn't expecting Jillian when he went to her store to orgainse weekly flowers to pick up and decides he needs to get to know her more and I was so glad he did as Jillian deserves someone like him who not only thinks of her but also Melanie. You get the perfect mix of romance, sweet moments, families coming together, laughs, a bit of heartbreak along with frustrations and a good sprinkle of Christmas spirit as we watch Brett, Jillian and Melanie become a family. This is book two in A Dickens Holiday Romance Series and it is Jillian and Brett's story and it is a must read. Jillian is a single mom and a flower shop owner but in Jillian's earlier years she had a promising career and a hockey player and her daughter plays and loves hockey as well and she plays in a team at the local youth group so Jillian doesn't have time or the energy to do relationships again after having her heart broken so she dedicates all of her time to her daughter and her flower shop. Brett has moved back home to Dickens after his father died so that he can help his mother and even though he hasn't played hockey since a serious and career ending injury ten years ago he finds himself taking a coaching position at the local hockey group and he hopes that it works out well especially after coming out of a broken engagement recently. Jillian and Brett meet at her flower shop and then again when he coaches the team that her daughter is part of but even though they have a really strong attraction between them will either of them act on it or just ignore it and miss out on something special. This is a truly magical Christmas story that I really enjoyed and the characters and storyline pulled you in right from the start and I definitely recommend you read this book and you will not be disappointed as it is so well written and engaging and worth reading. I absolutely loved this story. It's part of the Dicken's Holiday Romance Series but reads as a standalone. I haven’t read book one but I will be going back to read it. This book takes place is the small town of Dicken's. If you're looking for a feel good, sweet, small town, clean holiday romance, pick up this book. You won't be disappointed. It's well written and put a smile on my face. Think holiday romance on that network channel we all know and love for their movies but even better because it in book form. Yes, I'm one of those people who pretty much always says the book was better. I'm a book nerd and the library is my happy place. Brett and Jillian's story is sweet and heartwarming, definitely gives you all the holiday feels. I'd love to see more books written in this series.
