Tric Ryan has spent the majority of his adult life jumping out of airplanes and into infernos. That is until a fateful jump nearly ends his career as a smoke jumper. Badly in need of a change, he drives to Last Chance Beach to recover. A short respite at Shamrock Cottage promises him the solitude he needs to recoup, or to figure out how he’ll face a future without the dangerous job he loves.

Kelly O’Malley moved to Last Chance Beach after a broken heart. She’s living in her uncle’s rental, Shamrock Cottage, after a fire destroys her home. Brandishing a skillet she’s ready to defend her safe haven from the battered and bruised man in her living room. A quick call to her uncle confirms the mix-up, and that he’s accidentally rented the cottage to both Tric and her for an open-ended stay. When they both agree they can share the spacious vacation home, sparks are sure to fly.

Kelly helps Tric recover with easy walks on the beach and friendship. Will the magic of Last Chance Beach, with a dash of luck from the Irish, heal the heartaches Kelly and Tric carry and help them find the love and a future they both deserve? After all Shamrocks are a girl’s best friend.

What a lovely read! I enjoyed every bit of this story and love the characters. A matchmaking uncle, two people struggling and Shamrock Cottage make for a heartwarming read. Kelly and Tric definitely have an interesting start when both end up in the cottage for healing, recuperation and relaxation. This story develops nicely as they start as strangers and develop into friends to so much more.

This is a last chance beach romance and it is Tric and Kelly's story. I absolutely loved Tric and Kelly right from the start and there attraction to each other was so strong and the more time that they spend together the stronger it gets but as this is Kelly's home and Tric will be leaving they both think that it is better just to remain friend's. Tric and Kelly are so perfect for each other and I found myself hoping that they could overcome and work everything out and get the happy ending that they both deserve. The characters and storyline pulled you in right from the start and had you turning the pages to see what would happen next and I couldn't put this book down. I definitely recommend you read this book as it is so well written and definitely worth as it is a truly beautiful story.

Tric is a firefighting smokejumper, recently injured and working hard after surgery to regain his strength and stamina to go back to work again. Through his uncle, he secures a beach house located on an island. Getting there, he is surprised to find Kelly living there - her uncle owns it and let her live there while her house was being rebuilt. With all the room, they decide to share for the two months he is there. This is where the story gets really good. The characters are heartwarming, cherishing family and the little things in life like walks and spending time together. The storyline has great backstories, plenty of drama, surprises, big decisions, a stormy road bump, conniving relatives and much more. Love their chemistry and banter, and oh those jokes. The ending was cute and funny, and meant the world to them. Well done. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
