The history of Marathas as well as the way they lived during the eacher is undisputedly reflected and described in the novel ‘Mahaparv’ The incident which occupied during the rule of the Marathas are purely stated in the novel. What attracts the reader more in the novel is the skyle of writing used to make the description lively within the given boundary of the novel.

मराठ्यांच्या स्वातंत्र्ययुद्धाचा सुसूत्र लेखाजोखा. शिवाजी महाराजांनी स्थापन केलेले हिंदवी स्वराज्य संभाजी महाराजांच्या वधानंतर आपल्या घोड्यांच्या टापांखाली तुडवत होते मोगल. मराठ्यांना चिरडू पाहत होता औरंगजेब आणि त्याचे प्रचंड सैन्य. सुमारे पंचवीस वर्षांहून अधिक काळ औरंगजेब आणि त्याच्या सैन्याला झुंजवणाऱ्या राजाराम महाराज, संताजी-धनाजी, ताराबाई आणि अन्य अनुभवी मराठी सरदारांची शौर्यगाथा.

Acerca del autor

S. S. Desai was born in the village Balli,(Goa). He completed his primary education in Balli & higher education done in Portuguese in Margoa and Panji. He read several books in Marathi, Portuguese, French & English. In 1944 he went to Pune to become a journalist He work as a sub editor for various marathi dailys namely; The lokshakti, The Samachar, Prabhat, The Sanyuktik Maharashtra. He left journalism in 1946 and joined hands with `Bharatiya Sanskruti Kosh’ Committee which was run by Mahadevshastri Joshi, where he worked as an Assistant. Then he was appointed by the committee as the Research Assistant. He was then promoted to the post of a full time researcher by the same committee.

दै. लोकशक्ती, दै. समाचार, प्रभात, संयुक्त महाराष्ट्र इ. दैनिकांत उपसंपादक म्हणून काम. भारतीय संस्कृती कोश, विश्वकोशाच्या कामात सहभाग. शिवाजी विद्यापीठाच्या इतिहास विभागात संशोधक सहकारी ते संशोधक संचालक असा प्रवास. ‘इभ्रत’ कादंबरीमुळे साहित्यक्षेत्रात नावलौकिक. त्याच कादंबरीवर ‘कुलदैवत’ हा चित्रपट निघाला. ‘अब्बासअली’, ‘आहुती’, ‘चंबळेच्या पलीकडे’, ‘महापर्व’, ‘अखेरची लढाई’ या अन्य कादंबऱ्या.
