Holy cow, Mari Carr! To be fair, I have read and loved the Wild Irish series and this spinoff featuring the next generation, Wilder Irish. But honestly, the books and the series just keep getting better and better. June Kisses is about Sunday/Sunnie Young and Landon Riggs. Landon and Finn, Sunnie's older brother, have been best friends practically since they could walk, and over the years, Sunnie transitioned from being the tagalong baby sister to one of their best friends too. After a spur-of-the-moment drunken kiss neither is able to forget, Sunnie and Landon's friendship as they know it is on the cusp of change. It's Ms Carr's talent that brings us along for the roller coaster of emotions to be unleashed. Landon's loved the Collins family for as long as he can remember. He grew up with a single mom, and the Collinses welcomed him with open arms and ready support. He even became a police officer in part because of how much he admired Finn's dad, Aaron, who is now his commanding officer. Landon's a steady soul, and while the kiss surprised him, he quickly realizes that Sunnie is everything he didn't even realize he was looking for. She's spontaneous, all-in for any adventure, and he can easily see kissing only her for the rest of forever. Sunnie's grown up with the comfort and certainty of the Collins's family love, but while she knows she wants the whole hearth and home thing sometime, she's in no rush. Freshly graduated and loving her work as an oncology nurse, she's determined to wring all the pleasure she can from the string of hot guys she casually dates. The kiss, and the fallout from the viral video of it, forces her to face some deeper feelings head on, whether or not she thinks she's ready to. Sunnie and Landon's story stands alone well, but part of the pleasure of the Wild Irish and Wilder Irish stories is the chance to see others in the Collins's extended family and catch up with all the hijinks. June Kisses is a sizzling hot and sweetly emotional read for the keeper shelf.

Sunnie Young and Landon Riggs have known each other forever. Landon and Sunnie’s brother Finn have been best friends since they were little. Landon came from a single parent home, so he loved the chaos of Sunnie and Finn’s family. Sunnie started out as the pesky little sister following around Finn and Landon. As they grew older, they all hung out together sharing their lives. Landon is a police officer in Baltimore. When his girlfriend makes the decision to move to New York City to pursue an acting career, he is devastated. After many tequilas, a drunken kiss and some sexy talk, Sunnie and Landon’s relationship changes. One night, Sunnie gets mugged and Landon who happens to be patrolling with a reporter in tow, rescues her. In the heat of the moment, Landon kisses her and carries her to the car. Of course, the reporter videos them and they become an internet sensation. To get the heat off of him and get rid of all of the women following him, Landon suggests to Sunnie that they pretend to be a real couple. Soon Landon realizes that he actually has romantic feelings towards Sunnie and not brotherly ones. Sunnie is slow to follow. She wants to focus on her new career as an oncology nurse. I really enjoyed reading this story about Landon and Sunnie. What started out as a drunken kiss, soon led to something more serious. It took time for both of these characters to change how they thought of each other, less like brother and sister and more like something else. It was a slow process before both realized that they were always meant for each other. We are also entertained by the rest of the clan that live in the dorm above the bar. I love each and every one of these characters. This story was funny, romantic and tugged at your heart strings, everything we expect in a book by Mari Carr. As always, I look forward to the next book in this series.

Oh my! Just the perfect friends to lovers story! Sunnie Young is the typical little sister who just wants to follow her big brother and do what he does and that includes hanging out with his best friends. That is fine until they are in high school and then they become thick as thieves and that lasts well past high school until present day when they are each others best friends. After Landon breaks up with his long time girlfriend who moves away and at a party for April Fools day Landon and Sunnie are drunk and share a kiss or really two kisses. Suddenly the veil is dropped and Landon doesn't look at Sunnie the same but still tries to maintain the best friend status. Sunnie tries another trick and ghosts him for a couple weeks until she is mugged on her way home from work and Landon just happens upon the scene. He has a reporter in his car at the time who takes a video of the incident and their interlude (kiss and all) goes viral. This brings out all the crazies, paparazzi and crazy women and all and turns out to be just what is needed to bring these two together. Pretend to date! Or is it really pretend? This story is not to be missed. Even if you have not read the rest of the series, you will not be lost and this one is perfect. Another Collins Curse has fallen. Who is next? **Received this ARC for review from the publisher via NetGalley**
