About the author

Mark Taylor is a student at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia. As a freshman in high school, Mark was one of 72 high school students nationwide selected to participate in Young America’s Foundation High School Leadership Conference in March of 2010, where he had the rare opportunity to visit the Reagan Ranch located in the scenic Santa Ynez Mountains, northwest of Santa Barbara, California. Mark is also a graduate of the Leadership Institute’s Youth Leadership School and completed Patrick Henry College’s Constitutional Law Camp under the direction of Dr. Michael Farris. Attending political conferences for youth in Washington, D.C. during the summer and meeting people from across the United States are some of Mark’s favorite activities. Mark initially became interested in politics in middle school after attending a TeenPact seminar at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta, Georgia. Since then, Mark has worked on several statewide and nationwide campaigns, well before he was old enough to vote. When he isn’t busy following the news, writing about politics, or working in youth activism, Mark enjoys swimming competitively, playing catch with his yellow Labrador retriever named Tex, and spending time with friends and family. Mark brings energy and enthusiasm to the conservative movement. In his informational talks, Mark shares how Young Americans can move from apathy to activism.
