The Road to Hell (Lesbian Ghost Hunters, #6)

Valentine has joined the ghost hunting team, but there is still more than enough work to go around. The ghost hunters encounter a spirit haunting a classic car and find you are never too old for a bit of good old-fashioned parking...

EXCERPT:

The sun dipped low over the mountains, illuminating the lake with a dusky orange and pink glow. The still water reflected the sky so perfectly that, if not for the bar of black hills, you wouldn’t be able to tell where the water ended and the sunset began.

Valentine unentwined her hand from mine and stood, making me look up in surprise. The golden light gleamed in her blond curls as she shook them. Her hands dipped to the hem of her tank top. In one smooth movement, she pulled it up over her head, baring the pale rise of her breasts over the white curves of her hips. I watched, mouth open in surprise. She wriggled her mini-skirt down and then reached to pull me to my feet.

I stood, stumbling. “What are we doing?” I asked, dumbly.

She ran her hands over the stomach of my T-shirt, lightly, then tugged at the hem. “Going swimming,” she said, a wicked grin on her heart-shaped face. “Hurry up.”

“I don’t know if that’s a good idea,” I told her, nervously scanning the beach. “What if someone sees?”

Valentine turned her gaze on me, dusky desire in her eyes. “Then we’ll give them something to look at.”

BONUS STORY: The Spirit of the Forest

Molly and R.J. visit a national park and meet an absentminded “daughter of the forest.”

EXCERPT:

Xylia sang for us as the moon rose, a form of entertainment that I was so eager to stop that I nearly kissed her just so her mouth would be occupied with something else. I think R.J. had the same idea, because as one song finally petered to a close, she slipped a finger under one of Xylia’s ghostly hemp bracelets and said in a low tone, “You have a beautiful voice.”

“Thank you,” she said. “Do you want to hear anoth—?”

“How about we dance for the moon goddess now?” I said, jumping out of my seat. I didn’t think I could stand to hear another verse.

I stripped out of my T-shirt as fast as I could, tossing it aside. My pants quickly followed it, as did my socks and shoes, until I stood shivering in the blue light of the ghost lamp. R.J. raised her eyebrows at me, smirking, and I flushed. I’d never been so eager to get naked before, and I knew she knew it.

“What do you think, goddess?” asked R.J., her tone smooth as honey as she brushed her fingers over Xylia’s hand. “Shall we dance for you?”
